Full Packing Services
With our full packing services, our crew takes on the entire house. We move room by room, using commercial-grade materials to get everything ready for transport, and every box gets labeled clearly by room and contents so both our movers and your family know exactly what’s inside and where it’s headed once you arrive.
This suits clients who are pressed for time, who would rather not deal with the physical toll of packing an entire home, or who want the assurance that comes from knowing a trained professional has handled every single item. It’s also the option we recommend most often for long-distance moves, where the quality of the pack has a major effect on how everything holds up over hundreds or thousands of miles.
Partial Packing Services
The books are already boxed, the clothes are folded and ready, and most of the straightforward aspects of packing are done. But the kitchen is still a question mark, the artwork needs a plan, and the hallway closet has been accumulating items for a decade. Partial packing exists for exactly this situation. You tell us what you want handled, and we send a crew to take care of those specific rooms or categories.
This option gives you control over where your packing budget goes while still making sure the most time-consuming or trickiest parts of the job get done by professionals. It’s a common choice among clients who want to stay involved in their own move but know certain rooms are better left to a professional crew.
Fragile-Only Packing Services
Some items carry more risk than others. Antiques, fine art, mirrors, glassware, china, large televisions, and musical instruments are major concerns during a move. Our fragile-only service is built around these items, using specialized materials and packing methods so your most delicate belongings make the trip without a scratch.
This tier is frequently paired with a self-pack or partial-pack move by clients who are comfortable handling the bulk of their household on their own but who want a professional managing their most expensive or vulnerable items.
Our Packing Process
When Morse Moving & Storage handles your packing, here’s what the process looks like from the first phone call to the last box unpacked.
Step 1: Consultation and Assessment
Before your move date, we talk through the size of your home, the nature of your belongings, anything that needs special attention, and your overall timeline. For larger homes or more complicated moves, we’ll often schedule an in-person walkthrough so we can quote accurately and show up with the right crew size and supply load on packing day.
Step 2: Supplying the Right Materials
Good packing starts with good materials. Our crews arrive with commercial-grade corrugated boxes in a full range of sizes, double-walled boxes for heavier items, wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes, dedicated mirror and picture boxes, dish pack barrels, packing paper, bubble wrap, foam padding, stretch wrap, and custom crating when needed.
Step 3: Systematic Room-by-Room Packing
We work through your home one room at a time, keeping everything organized and easy to track. We fill boxes to the appropriate weight, with heavier items on the bottom and lighter ones layered on top. Everything gets packed tightly enough to prevent shifting in transit, and each box is labeled with its destination room and a general note on what’s inside.
Step 4: Special Handling for Specialty Items
Certain items require their own approach. Flat-screen televisions get custom foam inserts and television boxes. Artwork and mirrors are corner-protected, wrapped, and boxed individually. China and glassware are cell-packed or individually wrapped in packing paper and placed in dish barrel boxes with cushioning on every layer. Electronics are disassembled where appropriate and packed with their accessories. Furniture that is being moved (rather than packed in boxes) is wrapped in furniture pads and stretch wrap.
Step 5: Inventory and Documentation
We maintain a clear record of what has been packed and where. This makes unpacking dramatically easier and ensures nothing gets lost in the shuffle. If you’re using our storage services in addition to moving, our inventory process is even more detailed, so you always know exactly where your belongings are.
Step 6: Loading and Transport
Once packing is complete, our moving crew loads your belongings onto our trucks with the same level of care that went into packing them. Boxes are stacked correctly, heavier items on the bottom, and furniture and large items are secured to prevent movement during transit.
Step 7: Unpacking Services (Available Upon Request)
If you’d like help on the other end, we offer unpacking services as well. Our crew can unpack your boxes, place items where they belong, and remove all packing materials from your new home, leaving you free to start living in your new space right away.

We recommend booking your packing services at the same time you book your move, ideally four to six weeks in advance for a standard residential move. During peak moving season (May through September), availability fills quickly, and booking early ensures you get the date and crew size you need. For smaller packing jobs or fragile-only service, we can often accommodate shorter lead times.
No. When you hire Morse Moving & Storage for packing services, we bring everything: boxes, tape, packing paper, bubble wrap, specialty boxes, and all other materials needed to safely pack your home. The cost of materials is included in your packing service estimate.
You’re welcome to be present, and many clients prefer it, especially if there are items that need special attention or areas of the home that should not be packed. However, it isn’t required. Some clients drop off a key and let us work independently. We’ll communicate with you throughout the day if any questions arise.
There are certain categories of items that movers are not permitted to transport regardless of how they’re packed. These include hazardous materials such as propane tanks, gasoline, paint, and certain chemicals; perishable food items; plants (for long-distance moves); and irreplaceable personal documents. We’ll provide a full list of non-allowable items during your pre-move consultation.
